  55 years old fighting diabetes and horrible arthritis. riding my bike on a sunday. get pulled over. guy brings backup because i rode a half of a block on the sidewalk because its near an off ramp from the I-5 and i've almost been hit there several times while riding on street. i try explaining this to officer that i have no priors, no record and it is my first time and he writes me a citation. then his partner starts asking me the same questions like i am some kind of felon. on top of that officer is very unprofessional and seems to lack simple things like basic ticket writing and writing down the numbers that someone speaks to him. i was very upset and decided i am going to go to court for this. when i signed my ticket i said i'll see you in court. then he yells at me you know that was recorded and the judge will hear it. i asked if it was wrong to say i'll see you in court and he said no. our tax dollars at work! the sad part is the police have taken a lot of unfair abuse lately and i am 100% against that but when things like this happen it is very disappointing

  I came here from Indiana thought Chula vista would be a nice safe place to live. After my interaction with the Chula vista Police Department I find them to be very incompetent as far as public safety is concerned. I was at eucalyptus park walking my dog on a leash when a man with 5 dogs pulls up and let his dogs out of the car the 5 dogs tried to attack my dog. I called the police department to report it and they asked for all the information and told me they would call me back well it's been a hour and a half still no call back. I've decided not to live here because it is a lawless town. I can not depend on the police department for my safety.
